Paignton RFC Limited
Newton Abbot RFC

Newton Spartans got back to winning ways after their only defeat at Exmouth when putting five tries past Paignton’s second string.

First half tries from second rower Stefan Wolke and No. 8 Rory Blackmore, plus a conversion and a penalty from full back Will Throgmorton, had the visitors 15-nil up at Queen’s Park by the break.

Lewis Vicary came off the bench to open the second half scoring with a trademark sniping try from 10 metres.

Alex Fogden  - who was a revelation in the back row – went in for a try as did centre Harry Allen.

Both of these tries were converted by fly-half Dino Bazic, whilst Throgmorton added another penalty for good measure.

Newton led 37-3 before Paignton gave the scoreboard a little respectability with a couple of late seven pointers.

The Spartans are also inactive this week,  resume their Devon Merit One campaign at Teignmouth the following Saturday. (17th)
